We manufacture stencils according to customer requirements.
Usually, if a circuit has SMD components on 2 sides, there are 2 solder paste files, i.e. one for the top and one for the bottom and the customer will produce them on one stencil.
Regarding stencil thicknesses, we mainly take into consideration the spacing between the pads. For example, for spacing of less than 500µm between 2 integrated circuit pads, we would use a thinner stencil such as 100µm or 80µm. Most of our stencils use a standard thickness of 120µm.
